With the passing of years, our skin is affected by aging. This is a natural process, but external and internal factors can accelerate aging.
External factors that affect our skin are ultraviolet and sun exposure, cold weather, pollution, free radicals existing in the surrounding environment. Even the place, the continent, the country, and the area we live in has different skin effects.
Our diet, stress, and illnesses that affect us from inside by losing vitamins and naturals are internal factors that contribute to skin aging.
To protect our facial skin, we need to use good quality facial moisturizers, the best choice being antioxidant-infused creams and lotions.
When we talk about makeup, we all know that there are different types of foundation, concealer, BB creams, CC creams, and tinted moisturizers. Depending on the situation and how we feel on certain days, sometimes we feel the need to use lighter and less pretentious makeup. Fortunately, there is a high offer of tinted moisturizers, BB creams, and CC creams on the market today.
How to apply a tinted moisturizer?
A tinted moisturizer is, in essence, a colored cream. This means that you don’t need to apply anything else under a tinted moisturizer. If your skin is dry and very dry, you could use a light lotion formula or serum before applying the colored product. However, this might not be a good idea as the skin might break out.
Applying on skin uses the same methods as when applying foundation: with a sponge, foundation brush, or fingers.
Personally, I prefer using the tips of my fingers in a gentle downward motion.
How to choose a tinted moisturizer for older skin?
Mature skin needs more attention and is recommended to look after products that incorporate more active ingredients such as antioxidants, vitamins. Also, it is important to choose a formula that offers hydration and has a higher SPF factor.
If your skin is dry and dehydrated, look for a product that offers the best hydrating option.
For dark skin, there are also some good options on the market, such as CAUDALIE Fresh Complexion Tinted Moisturizer Anti-oxidant.
It is worth having a bit of look around, read reviews, and then decide which product might suit your skin the best.
We all tend to look for lower prices and bargains, but when it comes to choosing a cream for older skin, premium products usually contain the ingredients that care for aging skin.

Our conclusion
After we tried and tested these tinted formulas, we also considered opinions and reviews written by Amazon customers or on different online platforms to recommend which is the best-tinted moisturizer for older skin.
Each product has its own qualities, but when it comes to offering the best coverage and anti-aging effect, the ease of application, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, we have chosen Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Tinted Moisturizer as we couldn’t really fault it. It offers full coverage and doesn’t dry the skin. It offers enough shades to suit various skin types and has good reviews from people with older skin types.
For older skin, high praise was given by other users to Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20.
Based on its benefits and the high praise given by other customers as well, we believe that the best choice is Dermalogica Sheer Tint Medium SPF 20. This tinted formula has high sun protection, visibly softens the skin’s appearance, and blurs fine lines’ appearance. While sheer, it gives a nice all-over illuminating coverage.

Another tinted moisturizer I’ve tried is one by Rodan and Fields called Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid. I love it because it includes an SPF 30 and covers my red spots better than other BB creams and tinted moisturizers I’ve used.
This stuff is the perfect moisturizer for mature skin. I think of the Radiant Defense as more of a skincare product than a makeup.
One of the few downsides to this miracle product is its hefty price tag. Maybe I should try one of the more affordable tinted BB creams on your list.
Lol! I need to finish my tube of Rodan and Fields first, though. As you mentioned in the article, many BB creams and tinted moisturizers are stand alone-products that include sunscreen and moisturizer.
I love that the Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid by Rodan and Fields is all I need to put on my face.

I’ll have to try some of these! In my opinion, most older women look better in BB creams and tinted moisturizers than they do when they wear traditional, full-coverage foundation.
I’m 48, and so far, I like a BB Cream made by a company called Younique. The product I’ve been using is called Younique BB Flawless Complexion Enhancer, and it’s a tinted moisturizer for mature skin. When I’m wearing the BB Flawless, it doesn’t even look like I’m wearing makeup because it seems natural.
I don’t need a lot of coverage and don’t like cakey foundation, but this stuff evens my skin tone quite enough to make me feel confident, and it looks super smooth.
It’s a little expensive, so I’m open to trying other similar products. My philosophy on face makeup is that I want it to look like my own natural face, but better.
